Wattpad genres definitions

I was looking for a list of Wattpad genres definitions, but I couldn't find one. So, this is the result of a small research (mainly on Wikipedia) that may be useful for you, too. I also made some graphics for I needed them for a facebook group where we share our Wattpad stories.

Adventure fiction is fiction that usually presents danger, or gives the reader a sense of excitement.

Vampire / Werewolves
(These ones are separated genres on Wattpad, I put them together because they're strictly related.)
Werewolf fiction denotes the portrayal of werewolves and other shapeshifting man/woman-beasts.
Vampire literature covers the spectrum of literary work concerned principally with the subject of vampires.

General fiction - fiction other than genre fiction. This usually means slice-of-life or literary fiction.

The best definition I could find for teen fiction this was Young adult fiction (YA) - a category of fiction written for readers from 12 to 18 years of age. The subject matter and genres of YA correlate with the age and experience of the protagonist. The genres available in YA are expansive and include most of those found in adult fiction. Common themes related to YA include friendship, first love, relationships, and identity. Stories that focus on the specific challenges of youth are sometimes referred to as problem novels or coming-of-age novels.

You are the main victim of your own cheating

You intimately want to believe so many things, and you'll work so hard to hide every proof of your being wrong. Cognitive biases are part of the human nature, as they are part of every animal's nature. Which means that rationality is just a utopia, and we're all trapped in our own beliefs as if they could set us free and make us feel better. Because sometimes cages are a comfort zone. And it's crazy - we're all crazy, all extraordinarily normal. If we really want to know ourselves - for what we're allowed to - we should embrace science, with its (her) own imperfections. And then we'll see the world in such a new perspective we'll be surprised to find out who we are and what we really can do and think. Change is never easy, but it's usually worth it.

La rabbia non viene mai da sola

La rabbia può celare delusione o rancore, e quindi rifarsi a una lunga storia, o gelosia, e così raccontare qualcosa della persona. Provoca rabbia l'impotenza, per distanza o disabilità, ma anche la potenza, che trasforma le persone in cieche burattinaie. Si può trasformare in rabbia anche lo stress, che strappa la lucidità dalla mente delle persone. E quanta rabbia può provare una persona infelice.
Dietro a ogni parola urlata, o taciuta, c'è sempre qualcos'altro. Non è sufficiente ascoltare: bisogna indagare, empatizzare, capire che le altre persone sono diverse da noi, talvolta talmente diverse da provare sentimenti opposti ai nostri nelle medesime situazioni.

La fata della notte

La speranza è una luce che ci mantiene in vita nei momenti più bui, perché illumina la nostra strada di fiducia. Per questo spesso non c'importa che vengano davvero realizzati i nostri desideri, ma soltanto l'esplimerli...

Pochi di noi sanno, infatti, che esiste una fata che abita fra nuvole, che, illuminate sempre dalla Luna, assumono solo sfumature di viola. Lei ascolta ogni nostro più piccolo capriccio. Ma purtroppo il suo potere è limitato, e si scarica con ogni suo incantesimo: per questo deve scegliere con attenzione quale esaudire. Ascolta, seleziona, cataloga: raccoglie i desideri in grandi scatole, e non ne butta via mai nessuno, anche se ignora quelli inutili e disprezza quelli ignobili. Poi quando il suo potere è ripristinato, e ha un po' di tempo, scartabella fra i più dolci, i più generosi, e ne realizza uno, uno soltanto di miliardi, e sembra si dimentichi di tutte le altre persone che hanno avuto il coraggio di desiderare... Questo la rende triste, e per questo a volte il cielo piange. Ma non può fare altrimenti, a causa del suo potere, che si ricarica sempre più lentamente perché dipende dall'amore degli esseri umani, che pur diventando sempre di più perdono la loro speranza, e così la loro felicità.

Appartenere a categorie

Non tutti ci tengono ad appartenere a una categoria. Certo, la corrente tende a trascinarti verso una direzione, ma se trovi l’appiglio giusto è fatta.
Io l’ho trovato.

Ho scritto queste parole almeno dieci anni fa, ma oggi non ho idea a quale appiglio mi riferissi: la scrittura?, l'isolamento?, i miei ideali?
Sicuramente ancora non ci tengo a rientrare in una categoria, ma è anche vero che non potrei neanche riuscirci, a causa dell'identità frammentaria che possiedo: non sono una rocker, perché non suono; non sono una scrittrice, perché scrivo molto saltuariamente; non sono una blogger, perché parlo di argomenti a caso in modo casuale; non sono una nerd, perché non gioco ai videogiochi né ai giochi di ruolo e non faccio tante altre cose da "tipico nerd"; non sono una grafica né una fotografa perché non ho seguito corsi in merito... D'altronde come si può incasellare un essere umano? Come non si può incasellare qualsiasi altro essere vivente, come ci dimostra ogni giorno la natura, perché si dovrebbe poter etichettare un individuo?
